14 Citations Issued by Troopers Since Alabama Banned Texting
State troopers in Alabama have been cracking down on distracted driving, giving out 14 tickets since the state enacted a law banning texting while driving at the start of August. The cost of a breach of the Alabama texting ban scales up, starting at $25 and going all the way up through $75 for repeat offenders. Each individual offense also causes a driver to incur two points on their record.
