75 Mini Coopers Recalled by BMW Due to Tachometer Installation Error

Mini Cooper S Clubman and Mini Cooper Clubman vehicles of the 2011 model year are being recalled by BMW.  The recall, which affects 75 vehicles, was initiated once it was discovered that the tachometer onboard uses European-style symbols that an American driver may not be familiar with.  Specifically, an antilock brake system problem would not light up the letters “ABS”; instead, only the outer circle around those letters would come on.  Owners are not being notified, as the issue should have already been taken care of by dealers.
