97,000 Eddie Bauer Bassinets Recalled by Dorel Over Suffocation Risk

Rocking Wood Bassinets of the Eddie Bauer brand have been recalled by the Columbus, Indiana-based Dorel Juvenile Group.  97,000 bassinets could suffer from a defect wherein the bassinet is in danger of tipping should a certain spring not be installed.  If an infant then gets rolled to the side, a suffocation hazard is posed.  17 incidents have been reported, and on the heels of two of those, breathing difficulties reportedly occurred.  A free repair kit is being offered by Dorel to affected consumers who contact the company.
