Australian Official Question Efficacy of Speeding Cameras

In Australia, the efficacy of cameras meant to catch drivers violating speed limit laws is being called into question.  An independent road safety camera commissioner wants to see changes made to these devices, saying that they are used more for revenue than safety, and that the technology in place is not sufficient so as to accurately detect how fast a person is going, leading to citations being doled out when none should be issued.  He also said that front plates would be required to accurately cite motorcyclists, as identification is otherwise nearly impossible in many cases.
