Bishop CHP Offers Distracted Driving Courses to Teens, Older Drivers
Drive Smart classes will be provided to senior citizens and teenagers by the Bishop California Highway Patrol. The free classes aim to make drivers more aware of the dangers of distracted driving. Since teenagers are most susceptible to the distractions that can make driving less safe, a large part of the program is directed at them. Factors working against teen drivers include lack of sleep and less experience on the road. The videos shown in these courses are graphic, which some feel is necessary to drive home how dangerous distracted driving really is.
