California Senate Wants Vehicles to Give Bikes a Three-Foot Cushion
Every year, thousands of bicyclists get clipped and injured by passing vehicles. Because of this, the California Senate passed a new bill that says there must be a three foot clearing zone between bikes and motor vehicles. Senate Bill 1464 passed by a 52 to 19 margin. The Senate will make one more routine vote on the measure, at which point it will be sent to the Governor for final approval.
