Charlottesville Fire Department Offers Back to School Safety Tips
As school starts back, the increased traffic can lead to potentially dangerous situations. The Charlottesville, Virginia Fire Department says that distracted drivers are the number one cause of accidents. They advise allowing more time for the morning commute, avoiding texting or even talking on a cellphone, and heeding warning lights displayed by school buses in order to have a safe trip. Drivers should also be on the lookout for school zones and slow down to the speed limit. Parents should also talk to their children about safety issues as well.
