CPSC Touts Technology That Limits the Dangers Posed by Generators

The CPSC released the results of a study which showed that carbon monoxide emissions from gasoline-powered generators can be greatly reduced using existing technology. That technology is known as closed-loop electronic fuel injection. The CPSC also recommends keeping generators out of an attached garage or a main living space, and they want all consumers to have carbon monoxide detectors present inside a residence. The safety organization wants manufacturers to adopt an emission limit to protect consumers from the harms associated with carbon monoxide inhalation.
