Danger of Overloaded Trucks Highlighted by Indiana Official
The Indiana Motor Truck Association’s president is warning commercial drivers about the danger presented by trucks whose cargo is beyond the loading capacity of the vehicles. In particular, he is concerned about the appearance of semi-trailers loaded up with enormous steel coils that force the trucks to exceed their carrying limits by up to 60,000 pounds. 20 impounds of such trailers have taken place this summer thanks to stops by Indiana troopers. Overloaded trucks can lead to a rollover and reduced braking performance.
