Driver Issued First Ever Texting Citation From Iowa City Police
Iowa City Police have written out their very first ticket for texting and driving, and it probably won’t be the last. A 20-year old driver received the ticket after she reportedly drove into the back of another vehicle. It was discovered that the individual was also texting while driving, as she herself allegedly admitted. Several warnings and citations on have been issued elsewhere in Iowa in the past year, after a ban on texting went into effect in July 2011.
