Edina, Minnesota Bike Lanes Confuse Some Citizens

The installation of a new type of bike lane has led to some disagreement among the citizens of Edina, Minnesota.  These bike lanes are distinguished by a dashed white line, which means that automobiles and bicycles alike are supposed to use the lane.  When a bike and a vehicle are both in the vicinity, the motor vehicle operator is supposed to wait to pass when safe to do so.  Because the lane is meant to be used by both types of conveyances, though, the lanes have led to much confusion.  Officials hope that, over time, citizens will grow accustomed to the lanes.
