Education Encouraged Prior to Possible Beaufort Texting Ban
The city of Beaufort, South Carolina is trying to pass a law that would ban all drivers from texting while driving. Unlike the rest of the state, where legislation that bans people under the age of 18 from texting while driving has failed to pass, Beaufort wants everyone in their city to refrain from this dangerous practice. To that end, the Police Chief is encouraging education in addition to enforcement so that people understand the law and the danger.
