Expanded Distracted Driving Law Proposed in Villa Rica, Georgia
Villa Rica, Georgia is taking a second look at a law that could ban driving while using a cellphone and engaging in other distracting activities. Although originally approved, an initial measure was later vetoed by the mayor. The new proposal under consideration would be expanded to include distracted driving in general. Texting, eating, or reading without having any hands on the steering wheel would be cause for ticketing. If approved, this law would align with current state law.
