During a recent child seat safety check day in Fishkill, New York, deputies found that the majority of people installed their seat incorrectly. Most of the time parents have not fastened the straps tightly enough or they don’t have the correct seat given the child’s size. The seat should be strapped in firmly enough so that when you move it back and forth, the entire car moves as opposed to just the seat. In Dutchess County, it’s estimated that these events aid more than 3,000 parents and guardians every single year.
