Fisker Karma Fire Incident Springs Up Following Sandy
Fisker Karmas have had a rough go of it what with the numerous fire incidents that have reportedly been tied to the vehicles. 2,000 such automobiles were recalled earlier in 2012 because of a fire threat posed by a potentially defective cooling fan. Now, Hurricane Sandy has led more such vehicles to catch fire. 16 Karmas parked at Port Newark sustained fire damage following the storm. One expert said the fire, which may have begun in one car and spread to the others, could have taken place because of the heightened conductivity of seawater. The salt in the water could have also led certain components to experience corrosion that may also have contributed to the blaze.
