Five Ice Cream Items Recalled by Smith Dairy Over Salmonella Risk

Ice cream buyers in Ohio, West Virginia, Michigan, and Indiana should note that the Smith Dairy Products Company has recalled five types of ice cream due to a possible Salmonella contamination. Brands being recalled are SMITH’S, Acme, and Ruggles, and all items include peanut butter in both the name and the product. Sunland provided the peanut butter that Pecan Deluxe used to make the candies found in the ice cream. It is this peanut butter ingredient that might be contaminated with Salmonella.
