Ford Recalls 2001 Through 2004 Escapes For Potential Crash Hazard

Ford has announced the recall of the 2001 through 2004 Ford Escape vehicles. 423,634 vehicles are affected by a potentially stuck throttle. While dealers were in the process of trying to repair a faulty accelerator cable, which was the reason for a previous recall, they could possibly have damaged the cruise control cable due to the design of the Ford Escape. When Ford realized this problem, they simply sent out memos to dealers asking them to be especially careful while repairing the accelerator cable. They did not, however, tell vehicle owners of the problem, according to the Center for Auto Safety.  Ford will increase the space between the cruise control cable and the engine to fix this new problem.
