Gas Prices, Baby Boomers Blamed for Ohio Motorcycle Crash Increase
Tuscarawas Township in Ohio has experienced five fatalities related to motorcycle accidents this year, which puts them on level ground with the entirety of 2009. However, a spokeswoman for the Stark County Sheriff’s Department explains that there are obvious reasons for the uptick. Not only are gas prices driving people toward motorcycles, but baby boomers are trading the family car back in for a bike and hitting the road. Unfortunately, such persons aren’t used to the new, more powerful motorcycles that require training they might not have had decades prior.
