GE40LFR and GE35LFR Transit Buses Recalled by New Flyer

GE40LFR and GE35LFR transit buses of the 2010 model year are being recalled by New Flyer due to an issue affecting the viability of the handles on the emergency exit windows.  11 buses may have fallen victim to this defect, which would lead the handle to potentially break when a person attempts to use it to get out of the bus during an emergency.  If this leads to the passengers becoming stuck inside, the threat of an injury becomes apparent.  Free replacement of the handles will be offered by dealers, and New Flyer will provide instructions on what to do to consumers at some point in November.
