Hearts of Romaine Recalled by Publix Over Listeria Threat
Publix Supermarkets is recalling Publix Hearts of Romaine in ten ounce packages. The UPC on the back of the package is 41415 03886. The romaine may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Eating products contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes can cause illness and even death among young children, the elderly, and those whose immune systems are weak. Listeria can also cause a pregnant woman to sustain a miscarriage. Consumers who bought the lettuce are being advised to return the item to get their money back.
