Honda CR-V and Acura ILX Recalled Over Front Door Locking Defect

Honda is issuing a recall of their CR-V of the 2012 model year and their Acura ILX vehicles of the 2013 model year. There is a problem with the lock system wherein activation of the power door lock while a vehicle occupant opens the front door from the inside could compromise the door latch.  If a door is not fully latched, it could swing open during vehicle operation. This would increase the risk of injury to drivers and their passengers. There are roughly 172,000 vechicles that are affected. Honda will replace the door latch and handles at no cost to the consumer.
