Idaho Aims to Cut Down on Distracted Driving With New Texting Ban

Idaho recently made it illegal to text while driving. Engaging in this practice can now result in a ticket that carries an $81.50 fine. If the driver is at a red light, it would still be illegal for them to text. Over 1,300 people in Idaho alone have been injured because of distracted driving since 2009.  Anecdotal evidence from the past couple days suggests that troopers have already noticed a significant difference in how many drivers they see texting.
