Illinois Governor Supports AT & T’s Anti-Texting And Driving Campaign
AT & T has started a campaign asking Americans to take a pledge against distracted driving. The campaign is the result of an abundance of crashes linked to texting or emailing while driving. The US Transportation Secretary has gone so far as to call texting a national epidemic. The Illinois Governor is supporting the campaign by asking drivers to sign a no-texting pledge on September 19 and instituting “Texting And Driving Awareness Month” throughout September. AT & T began their effort in 2009, and Sprint and Verizon have similar anti-texting campaigns ongoing.
