LEDs and Crosswalks Seek to Improve Largo, Florida Pedestrian Safety
Officials are hoping that the installation of new crosswalks featuring LED lights will help improve pedestrian safety in the city of Largo, Florida. Created so that the intersections could adhere to a new Florida law, the LED lights will kick in whenever a pedestrian is about to utilize the crosswalk, and a sign will tell drivers to “Stop for Pedestrians.” The warning lights can be seen up to a mile from the source, so motorists will have ample time to react to a pedestrian’s presence.
