Listeria Threat Leads Whole Foods to Recall Ricotta Salata
Ricotta salata supplied by the Long Island, New York-based Forever Cheese and available in 21 states is being recalled by Whole Foods Market. Forever Cheese recalled their cheese because of a possible Listeria contamination. Listeria is an organism that can cause severe illness in children and in the elderly. All packages being recalled have a sell by date leading up to October 2, and some might have a Whole Foods label that says Mitica Ricotta Salada. If you have purchased this product, you are being asked to bring it back for a complete refund.
