Maryland Police Step Up Patrols to Protect Pedestrians on Halloween

With Halloween coming up shortly, the state police of Maryland are increasing their patrol efforts until month’s end.  Due to the increased number of pedestrians out and about on Halloween, the police hope that an increased police presence will improve safety.  In particular, officers will be on the lookout for intoxicated and otherwise reckless drivers.  On Halloween two years ago, 41% of fatal crashes reportedly involved a driver under the influence of alcohol.
