NHTSA Advocates Having a Designated Texter in Every Vehicle
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has a new campaign designed to push the idea of a “designated texter.” This concept finds its parallel with the concept of a designated driver. Much like persons should enlist one individual to refrain from drinking so that they can drive everyone home, the NHTSA wants citizens to have a person in the car who will text on the driver’s behalf, thus combating the danger of distracted driving.
