Nikon EN-EL 15 Batteries Recalled For Possible Burn Hazard

Nikon is issuing a recall of EN-EL 15 rechargeable battery packs sold with Digital SLR cameras. The affected batteries sold in the United States, Canada, and across the world pose a threat due to a potential burn hazard. A short circuit can result in overheating and melting of the battery.  Consumers should discontinue use immediately and contact Nikon for a free replacement battery.  The affected batteries were sold between February 2012 and April 2012.
