North Bend Police Use Decoy Pedestrian to Catch Violators

North Bend, Oregon is the latest city to participate in a sting geared toward catching those drivers who endanger pedestrians.  With police cruisers waiting in the wings, an undercover cop acting as a pedestrian crossed the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Oregon Street in order to scope out drivers who ignored the laws pertaining to the right of way.  Depending on the flagrancy of the violation, vehicle operators were warned or cited for their behavior.  The city hopes to bring awareness to pedestrian safety.
