Officials Investigate Salmonella Outbreak at Nebraska Nursing Home
In Blue Hill, Nebraska, a Salmonella Newport outbreak has given officials cause for concern. The contamination took place at the Blue Hill Care Center, a nursing home and rehabilitation facility where four people recently suffered from symptoms that led to them being hospitalized. So far, 17 people have been reported ill because of this particular bacteria, which is more resistant to drugs than other types of Salmonella. Nebraska health officials are in the process of looking into what caused the outbreak.
