Older Riders, Sunny Days Lead to Motorcycle Death Uptick in Wisconsin
The state of Wisconsin has been plagued by 102 motorcyclist fatalities this year, giving 2012 the state’s fourth highest death toll in the past 20 years. The Wisconsin Motorcycle Safety Program manager says that riders need to continuously hone their skills. Indeed, those fatalities involved people with an average age of 48, and many believe that older riders are returning to their motorcycles after years of not engaging in the activity, and thus their skills have been diminished in that time. Nice weather could also be to blame for the sharp uptick.
