Pittsburgh’s BikeFest Aims to Raise Safety Awareness
This past Sunday, the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania played host to BikeFest. The festival will continue for the next two weeks. The first activity being offered was something called Pedal Pittsburgh, which asks riders to choose one of three paths that can be traveled on bike as opposed to in a vehicle. The Bike Pittsburgh executive director says all commuters must be safe, but that an especial responsibility rests with the operators of motor vehicles. He said safety should be the focus over the next two weeks, as the city will see many more bicyclists due to the city’s various events.
