In Erie, Pennsylvania, BikeErie recently organized an event called the Ride of Silence. This event, which featured the participation of 50 bicycle enthusiasts, was designed to encourage all types of motorists to share the road with persons on bikes. The ride started near a ghost bike, which was placed in commemoration of all those persons who have died in bike accidents. Police were on hand to make sure that the ride went smoothly.
