Rode Dog Wins AT & T’s Anti-Texting While Driving Hackathon Event
An eleven year old Rancho Palos Verdes girl has created a phone application called “Rode Dog,” which lets the recipient of messages from a texting driver send barking sounds to that driver. These sounds would then hopefully make the vehicle operator want to put down his or her phone. The girl’s dogs were what inspired the app. The creation of the software was an accomplishment worth $20,000. This application was designed for a hackathon competition that was part of AT & T’s “It Can Wait” campaign, which aims to get people to stop texting and driving.
