Santa Monica Police Crack Down on Motorcycle Violations

Officers with the Santa Monica Police Department cracked down yesterday on those motorcyclists found to be in violation of traffic laws.  In an effort to reduce injuries and fatalities, areas susceptible to particularly high motorcycle accident rates were to receive particular attention.  California motorcycle deaths rose by 37% from 2009 to 2010, and it has been estimated that 62.7% of riders younger than 25 don’t have the proper license.
