School Safety Vehicle Used to Protect Pedestrians in Oldham, UK
Officials in Oldham, United Kingdom hope that a new initiative will help eliminate the danger posed near area schools when vehicles park in off-limit areas and impede other drivers’ ability to see child pedestrians. A School Safety Vehicle is traveling throughout the area beginning November 5 in a bid to spot vehicles parked in areas where they’re not allowed. For the first two weeks, warnings will be issued, but strict enforcement of laws will begin thereafter. Officials stress that most people will be unaffected by this effort, but that there are still some people who favor saving a little bit of time at the cost of the potential detriment to safety.
