September 19 is “No Text on Board- Pledge Day” In New Lenox, Illinois
In New Lenox, Illinois, special actions are being taken to prevent texting and driving. The Mayor is being proactive in discouraging both teens and adults from engaging in this behavior by declaring that September 19 will be known as “No Text On Board – Pledge Day.” Texting while driving makes it 23 times as likely that a driver will be in a crash. The Mayor said that good examples must be set for teens to make this behavior less prevalent.
