Spanish Hygiene Items Recalled by Mercadona for Possible Cancer Link

Mercadona, a chain of Spanish supermarkets, has recalled a variety of lotions, moisturizers, and other products from Solcare and Deliplus.  When triethanolamine and bronopol, ingredients contained within the recalled products, interact, they can create nitrosamine, a carcinogen that could lead to a person developing tumors.  Due to the relative minute levels of these two ingredients, the country’s Health Ministry is telling customers that the items should still be safe for use.  Customers can exchange the items or obtain a refund.
