Spinach Recalled by Kroger Over Potential Listeria Monocytogenes Risk
Ten ounce packages of Kroger Fresh Selections Tender Spinach 10 ounce packages are being recalled. The NewStar Fresh Foods-supplied spinach has a Best by date of September 16. The product may be tainted with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause severe illness in pregnant women and those whose immune systems are compromised. Stores in 15 states are affected by this recall. Customers who may have purchased this item will either receive an automated phone call from Kroger or will receive an announcement on their future receipts. Return affected merchandise to the nearest Kroger for a complete refund.
