Springfield Implements Pedestrian Safety Measures Around Schools

In Springfield, Missouri, numerous safety measures were put in place over the summer to better ensure that children will be able to make it to school safely.  Brand new sidewalks have been installed, as have zones with speed limits designed to get drivers to slow down around school areas.  The city is also offering up-to-date walking maps that parents can use to help plot their child’s route to and from school.  With 24,000 kids headed to school, it’s hope that these improvements, combined with caution on the parents’ part, can keep accidents down.
