Fire Risk Prompts Setra to Recall 203 Motorcoaches

S417C, S407CC, and S417 motorcoaches of the 2009 through 2013 model years are being recalled by Setra because there’s a chance that a fire could break out on these vehicles.  203 vehicles in total are affected by the recall.  The ground wire close to the alternator could have been routed improperly, which might lead the component to experience chaffing or an abrasion.  If this were to occur, then a short circuit becomes a possibility, as does a fire.  Motor Coach Industries will be overseeing the recall, which is set to take place this month.  A free wiring rerouting will be offered by MCI.

44 Volvo Bus 9700 Coaches Recalled by Prevost Over Injury Risk

A potential problem with the wheelchair lift has prompted Prevost to announce the recall of 44 Volvo Bus 9700 coaches of the 2009 through 2013 model years.  The maintenance safety pins might not be equipped on the lift, or lift cylinders might not be sufficiently long.  Either way, this would compromise safe use and potentially lead to the lift not being stowed properly.  If someone is thus in the vicinity of this lift, he or she could be injured.  At some point next month, vehicle owners can expect to hear from Prevost.  At that point, they’ll be able to bring the coaches in to a dealer to receive a free inspection, and if necessary, no-cost repairs.

Van Hool Recalls 152 TD 925 Motorcoaches Over Injury Hazard

Van Hool has announced the recall of 152 TD925 motorcoaches of model years 2011 and 2012. The affected motorcoaches have an incorrect floor adapter plate and riser installed on the driver’s seat.  Therefore, they fail to meet federal motor vehicle safety standards and pose an injury threat. The owners of the recalled vehicles are being notified by Van Hool through ABC Bus, who will conduct free replacement services.

2013 X3-45 Motor Coaches Recalled by Prevost For Crash Hazard

X3-45 motor coaches of the 2013 model year are being recalled by Prevost.  Only eight vehicles are affected by this recall.  Insufficient torquing may have taken place in the front suspension radius rods.  If this proves to be the case, then the rods could come loose and impede the driver’s ability to properly control the coach.  This poses a crash threat.  Affected owners should receive a notification, at which point they can get the component re-torqued for free by a dealer.
