Texting Behind The Wheel Now a Primary Offense in Upper Arlington, Ohio

Upper Arlington, Ohio has taken a step toward improving public safety by making texting behind the wheel a primary offense in their jurisdiction. The state law makes texting while driving a secondary offense, but in Upper Arlington and other communities, city councils are voting to make their own local laws even stricter. The city council passed the measure with a 5-2 vote. The new ban takes effect 30 days after passage.
