In Ohio, the City Council of University Heights has passed an ordinance that makes it illegal to text while driving. The law also makes it illegal for drivers under 18 to be using an electronic device in any way while behind the wheel. First time violators will be fined $150, and a $300 fine will be imposed if a subsequent violation takes place. Two-time violators will also receive a one year license suspension.
