Texting While Driving Discouraged by Turks and Caicos Islands Police
A campaign has been launched to reduce texting while driving in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Estimates show that 30% of all crashes are due to distracted driving, with young people in particular often responsible for participating in this behavior. Police from the area suggest adopting certain habits to stay safe, such as pulling off the road to take a call, using a hands-free device, or just letting the call go to voicemail. They also discourage grooming, eating, and taking notes.
