Toronto Police Educate Pedestrians About Dangers of Distracted Walking
Police throughout Toronto descended on crosswalks in the city in a bid to educate pedestrians about the need to always be paying attention to their surroundings. Those persons who were busy listening to music, texting, or chatting on a cellphone may have found themselves receiving a stern tongue lashing from concerned officers. The effort aims to curtail the 18 fatalities among pedestrians that have taken place so far this year.
