Unintended Acceleration Prompts Recall of Lexus RX450H and RX350

Toyota has recalled Lexus RX350 and RX450H vehicles of the 2010 model year that were created between November 28, 2008 and September 1, 2010.  The recall comes because the gas pedal can become stuck in the open position if trapped by a floor mat.  This could cause uncontrollable acceleration to very high speeds, and the attendant difficulty in stopping the Lexus could result in a crash. Lexus will be in touch with owners of these vehicles and dealers will fix the pedal and replace the floor mat if need be. Notifications will be issued in August.
