Watch for Me NC Promotes Pedestrian Safety in North Carolina

North Carolina has launched an effort called Watch for Me NC that aims to promote pedestrian safety.  The initiative, which will take place in Raleigh and other cities across the state, will see officers cracking down on drivers who fail to yield the right of way to pedestrians in a crosswalk, as well as those pedestrians who needlessly endanger themselves and drivers.  The state is currently in the education phase, and at North Carolina State, officers on campus are speaking with offenders while issuing citations in situations where safety is blatantly ignored.
