Wisconsins Teen Cellphone Ban is Near, But Enforcement Issues Persist
In just two days, it will be illegal for teenagers in the state of Wisconsin to use a cellphone behind the wheel of a vehicle. However, potential issues with enforcement are already being discussed, as it’s left up to an officer’s discretion as to whether or not the offender is in the age range prohibited from engaging in the activity. A driving instructor based out of Eau Claire says that, given the problems with enforcement, parents should take it upon themselves to impress upon kids the danger of cell use and think about investing in one of the many apps that can limit the practice. A member of the state patrol urges drivers to let a passenger use the phone if a text or call must be sent.
